The battery on our 4016 is on its final breath, meaning I'll need to replace it. The problem is that each year we get a new battery because we manage to die it during the winter months, so is there a battery that will survive more than a year?

Think about opting for an AGM battery that offers higher cold cranking amps, and definitely use a maintainer through the winter. This way, it'll perform better in cold storage and generally last longer than the typical flooded batteries.

We had the same problem on our 4016 until we switched to an AGM battery and wired in a quick-disconnect trickle charger. It's been three winters and still cranks like day one. :) Wink.

Thanks for the tip, haven't considered something like this, I was thinking about entirely disconnecting the battery and leaving it to rest. Which model did you get?
