Hi everyone.
Bent my rear passenger side tie rod when I backed up a brick wall by not looking.
For the last 4 weeks I've been trying to find out how to remove the thing from the steering ram. When you put a spanner on the thing where it joins the ram, it just spins.
After lots of researching, I found out that's theres a flat section on the ram and another on the tie rod. Took a while to find it as the position of the axle was of course in the mud, what else would you expect.
Then my problem was finding the right tool for the job as its really tight you cant use normal thickness tools. I had to find a really skinny spanner and used another skinny adjustable wrench or shifter as we call em over here. I also heated the nuthead to release the lock tight. Another tip I picked up along the way.
Ive attached some photos to show you what it looks like out, as I couldn't find any so I didn't know what I was dealing with.
Anyway, im about tk head to the machine shop to see if they can straighten it out. In Australia they are $600 new
