I've been slowly bringing my old case 446 back to life, this thing's been in the family since the late '80s, and I couldn't bring myself to let it rot behind the barn any longer, I got it running smooth again (after some blood sweat and tears...literally), hydraulics are mostly responsive, but I've hit a minor stop trying to figure out an issue with one of the spool valves. The problem is I'm not exactly sure what spool I've got, it doesn't match up perfectly with the diagrams I've found online or in the parts manual, mine has some extra ports and a slightly different casting, and I dont know if its possible someone swapped it out somewhere along the line with a variant from a different model or a third party replacement. Right now I'm trying to sort out whether it's even the correct valve for this machine or if that's part of the reason why I've got inconsistent flow to the rear hydraulics. Has anyone else had to do some spool detective work before?, would appreciate any input or tips for identifying these things accurately
